Flower Power

This will be short and sweet.  Has a long day yesterday and just totally exhausted myself but the good news is i am finally starting to feel better.  Hopefully that means on Monday i can finally start working out at the gym.  I have really wanted to get myself back in shape and feeling better about myself.  Not too sure if i have the motivation to do it but i will have to find it somewhere.
So for now i can look at these pretty flowers i made in which i am going to attach to the tutus for my daughters birthday favors.  So here is how i made them,  ENJOY!
 1. Cut four circle smaller than each other out of fabric

 2. Cut lines around the circle in a pie shape.

 3. Carefully hold out one petal at a time and burn the edges using a tea light candle.  Take care not to catch the fabric on fire or burn yourself.

4. Arrange the flowers largest to smallest being on top.

 5. Sew together and add whatever embellishment to the center and attach to what you want.

And when your finished this is what you get!

WOYWW #142

Here we are again on Wednesday and i can hardly believe that it is almost the end of February.  Wow it has gone by so quick but looking forward to getting nicer weather here.  This rain has to STOP!!!
So as you can see i have a project on the go.  I am trying desperately to finish my daughters birthday invites.  But im just not getting too far.

I also added photos of the shelf many of you have been commenting about.  My husband made it for me a couple years ago for my birthday..  It is filled with ribbon and flowers and wish i had 2 more shelves like it.

Also included is my paper shelf.  It is organized but could be neater.  Just love it though!
If your new at this then head over to THE WONDERFUL JULIA and follow along on what is probably the worlds largest blog hop.
HAVE FUN PEEKING!

Brighten your day

In my one hour of time, i can't even say child free because they were with me, i got to play in my craft room. One corner of the room i put my son at his own table and then gave  my daughter half the desk and i tried to use the other half.  Even though she never stopped talking i just continued on with my project and finished two cards.

Amazing how so little time to do something you love, can really brighten your day.
Hoping i can have a little more of that fun this week.  I am loving all the hot air balloon stuff  right now so had to play with mine.  The other was a birthday card with a mermaid on it.

How is it possible...

Let me ask, how is it possible to feel sicker than you  felt when you first caught the cold.  Hopefully i just need to relax from a busy weekend.
So i managed to finish all the cupcake and actually enjoyed playing with the fondant.  Even good compliments at the birthday party guest.  Here is a little look at how they turned out.

Thought i would share some little goodies i bought  at the LSS.  I really wanted to get out and found some super cute papers and embellishments to go with them.
Some days i wish i had infinite amounts of money and all day to play but i will leave that for dreaming.  Got a couple cute stamps, bakers twine in aqua and grey, flattened bottle caps and some flowers. Looking forward to creating if i ever get to feeling better.
Enjoy your day.

Birthday makings

This was an invitation and banner i had made for my daughters princess and the frog themed party.
I made a banner with a princess holding and frogs that said Princess Sophia.  I cut them on my wishblade and put it together with ribbon.  The invite i made using a hero arts clear set.  I colored with copics and glittered it up.  Thanks for having a look.  Have a great Saturday!

First time using fondant

I am a little disappointed i have not had any scrapping time this week.  But due to being sick all week i just have not had any energy to do anything anyways.
I still have seven more tutu's to go so hopefully i can get back to my scraproom soon.
My daughter was at her pre kindergarten class yesterday afternoon for two and a half hours so i decided to work on some sea creatures  from fondant.  A friend of mine asked if i could make her daughters cupcakes for her birthday this weekend so i gladly excepted.  She said she wanted fish and sharks and octopus.  So i thought i would try fondant  for the first time.  Must say it was pretty easy to work with.  I made these cute creatures in just under 3 hours.  I still have seaweed to make and some other sea life.  I should be able to share the pictures with you on Sunday.
My daughters birthday is in six weeks and she is having a ballerina party so i might end up making tutu's from fondant.  If any one has any great design ideas let em know.
Finally the weekend is here so enjoy your Friday!

Tutu fun

I have been in the process of trying to make eight tutus for my daughters 5th birthday.
My daughter wanted to have a ballerina party for her birthday so i figured i would make tutus for each of the girls.  I also am going to make large pink flowers for each tutu.  I only have enough material to make 7 and including my daughter there were eight girls so i am just making her a different one.
I still have some decorations  and banner to make.  The invites i hope to have finished by the end of next week so she can give them to her friends.
I am hoping to make cupcakes and just some snacking food and the hard part is coming up with things for the girls to do.  So if you can think or suggest anything fun let me know.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday.

WOYWW #141!!!

Wow it is here again.  Honestly, i had the room all cleaned up but i took out the sewing machine than worked on making tutus, and a mess!  See for yourself, join Julia and all the other fantastically clean workspace or maybe not so clean, you be the judge
So i spent around eight hours getting the room all straightened.  I managed somehow to put everything back in it's correct place and even emptying out bags that had been in the closet for two years, wow for me!!!.  So once i had the desk cleared off (took computer and put in my husbands office), i then put everything i needed to sort on the desk and worked from there.  I was quite proud of myself for getting it all done but now it is messy again, ok maybe not all that messy!
Right now i have the sewing machine, some fabric, junk to be sorted and my February counterfeit kit on my desk.  Lucky for me i got some super cute Valentine pictures of the kids so i can use the kit to scrapbook them.
I hope everyone else is enjoying their WOYWW!  Now the task of getting through everyone.  It took me about 12 hours to make it through everyone, so enjoy.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everybody.  Hope you have a fantastic day and evening if you you have plans.
My husband and i are going out for dinner.(much needed).  Grandma and grandpa are taking the kids for a sleepover.  I have been sick most of the weekend so hoping i feel better tomorrow.
Thought i would share with you what i spent yesterday afternoon making for the kids to take to preschool.
My daughter is taking the candies and the pencils.  For her teacher she is giving her the Hershey roses, they turned out so cute.  My son is taking some candy and a cookie with hearts.  His teacher and teacher's helper are getting the pencils.
Each of the kids are getting some treats from us but have no idea about it. They will be so excited!
Eight years ago i got engaged and five years ago i had my daughter and three years ago my son and "love day makes it all so real especially when they love each other as much as they do.

Enjoy your Valentine's day and treats.
I'm just happy to have a quiet, hot dinner, with no kiddies.  Looking forward to my nice evening.

My Pretties

Finally i have decided that instead of just doing flowers for scrap booking or whatever, i made some for my daughter.  Do too  thin hair and feathers that stick out every where my daughter mostly wears pony tails.  She seems to be quite pick and generally can't stand  much of anything in her hair.  Hope that changes before kindergarten in a couple of months.
I made two elastic hair ties, one clip and one barrette.  I'm hoping to make a hair band tomorrow that is red with hearts for Valentine's day.  One that does up under her hair.  So have a look and let me know what you think.
Don't  forget that today is the last day for my giveaway!

And it only took about two hour to completely finish all of these.  Yeah for me!!  Hope to have more soon to share with you all.

Valentine Favors

I was busy making favors for my daughter to take to school on Tuesday.  I decided to make them as pencils.  I saw them in Pinterest and just loved it.  I thought it would be cute for school.  Only problem is i need a cute saying for it so if you can think of one let me know.
I used tubes that i filled with mini rolo's.  I then covered the tubes with card stock and the lid was covered with pink card stock.  The silver is tinfoil.  Super quick and easy. The kids are so excited to take their cards and favors.  My son is taking cookies and chocolates as his favors.  Hoping to get a cute photo of them dressed in their red clothes, definitely want to scrapbook them.  Thanks for stopping by.
Also do forget to check out my blog giveaway  i posted on Monday here it is again!  Just become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment. I will reveal the winner on Friday!

WOYWW CHECK IT OUT!

Ok i  have to admit that i have always been interested in WOYWW,  (check out the wonderful Julia's blog to follow along), but just have never had the time to really get into it, But now i am making time.  Yeah for me!!  I am trying my hardest to keep up with my blog everyday but so far I have failed on the weekends.
A year ago i decided i wanted to make over my craft room.  So in January I packed up my room and put most of it in our rec room and the rest that the kids could not touch, in my  husbands office.  My husband went to Germany for six weeks last January so when he returned in March he was going to do it.  Well one thing led to another and the last weekend in September he finished my room.  It looked amazing for one month then it looked like a bomb went off in it!  By Christmas i couldn't even get in the door.  Over the holidays i once again cleaned it all up and three days later my computer blew up.  So my husband started rebuilding my still not working computer and decided to build not just one but two on top of the counter.  So once again the room became a collecting ground for everything.  Does anyone else have this problem?!!! So my goal this week while my husband is away is to get it all put back together again and re-organize it.  Lets see how i make out.
So this is how it looks right now!              YUCKY!!!!!
This is taken standing in the hallway looking in.  I had to climb over several bags just to take this picture!
As you can see the counter top is full, no where for me to work.
Lots and lots or sorting to do.  No i do not store cereal in my room i am saving the boxes for albums.
Cant wait to see how the week goes hopefully next week these pictures will be totally different.
Enjoy your Wednesday!

Never Ending Love

Finally after trying to clean up what is suppose to be my craft room, i gave up and decided i wanted to make my Counterfeit Kit., that i named "Never Ending Love". I love looking at what we were to remake into our own kits.  Can't say lately that i have been ovelyr impressed with the kits, but it all changed when i saw these.  I wanted to do both kits but so far have only had time for one.  And the disappointing part is that i can' t even start using my kit till after valentines day because i plan on scrap booking my children's valentines events.
A couple of weeks ago i came across the tin man paper and fell in love with it.  Ultimately i think i got it because the Wizard of Oz was my favorite movie growing up.  So i knew i wanted to use it for my son so i just needed to come up with a couple other papers to go with it.  I just love red and black together!
I chose 8 papers and one paper that had everything on it.  The Maya road envelop I'm using on one of my daughter's pages to hold her valentines, hope it will do.  I didn't want a lot of embellishments  so just added some rhinestones, heart shaped doilies, three different kinds of ribbon along with the red pearl ribbon, some chipboard and quotes.
Oops, i forgot to add the letters.  I chose black letters and pink and red felt.  Can't wait to play with my kit!!!
