This year everywhere i look all i see are snowflakes and i guess that has rubbed off on me. Most of the decorations i have bought are snowflakes or have snowflakes on them. So keeping with my theme of snowflakes i even made my Christmas cards this year to have snowflakes.
The beautiful, serene, gentle feeling that snowflakes bring helps put the holiday into perspective for me.
I came across these scallop cards at Michael's, 8 of them for $1.50, so i bought three packs. Not enough but i made due. I then used silver metallic card stock and red card stock. I cut the circles out using the big shot and then the shimmery white circle was cut using the big shot as well. I then embossed the shimmery white piece with a snowflake embossing folder. As for the snowflakes they varied. The blue and silver were stickers, then shinny fabric snowflakes and a couple cut from a memory box die and glittered icicle card stock. I used red or silver jewels around the scallop and the red ones have a jeweled flower and the silver ones have a rhinestone snowflake.

On my way to the mail box
Finally have finished all my Christmas cards that get sent out but keep seeing many more i just love and hope to have time to make. First though, i have to finish everything else on my list. I held a card class about a month ago and we created three different cards. I got 5 people who participated and had lots of fun. I made a friends stack of cards as she could not attend so having the time i made hers but felt the need to make one a little fancier than i did for the class.
I used the welcome Christmas set from stampin up and just loved it. I used a brown card stock as the base and red card stock which i embossed. I then stamped the imagine on cream card stock with stampin ups chocolate chip ink and added stickles. The glittered paper i cannot remember who makes it and the sediment was stamped on cream card stock with red ink.

Wow how time flies>>>
I cannot believe how quickly time has gone. I didn't even get one post done in the month of November.
I have been busy trying to buy gifts, make crafts, cards, baking and getting everthing finished for the kids for their teachers.
Christmas has always been my favorite holiday of the year but also the most chaotic. I enjoy doing all the festive things but also look forward to January.
Recently i have made an advent calendar for the kids.
I cut out each numbered square and punched holes in the top coroners. I then attached it to twine and it is hanging in our kitchen. Everyday when my daughter gets home from school we read what it says to do for that day. December 1st was to make/write letters to Santa and mail them. December 2nd was to go to the parade of lights, which the kids just loved. Today December 3rd is to make snow globes! I hope to be able to bring you something new each day and possibly my baking as well. This year i hope to be abler to make all new cookies and bars, yum yum!

SPOOKY!
This is what you see if you were standing at my front door!
I just love this time of year and have been so excited for a couple of weeks now. After two trips to the pumpkin patch and one more tomorrow, i will be more than ready. I just have to carve all the pumpkins now. I have seen a lot of interesting faces like potato head pieces that i could save my time and use, but i just love the creepy carved faces that light up on Halloween
This year because we recently redid our front lawn and planted a new tree i didn't want to have anything put into it so i stuck with everything being on the porch.
I added new twinkling purple lights and the ball lights around the door. Next year i hope to get some characters that make spooky noises.
Hope you can enjoy the pictures as much as i enjoy the real thing!

Halloween fun
Well it has certainly been quite a very busy couple of weeks. I have been busy with school functions, a daughter with an ingrown toenail, the flu, a filling that has fallen out and a little boys birthday.
Some how amongst all this i was able to decorate the house for Halloween (pics to follow), and i also managed to make a cute Halloween card.
When i saw the new snag em stamps by imaginice i had get them.
So i bought the sugar skull stamp and the Dracula. I love them and ended up making five cards.
I have sent one to my sister's two boys with some Halloween treats. Two other ones are for the kids teacher's and then one for each of my good friends.
Gotta run back to decorating for the party. Enjoy your Thursday!
I am entering this card into the following contests:

3. Creative Belli Blog - Halloween
4. Divas by design - Orange

Its beginning to look a lot like...
What a dreary looking day outside. I think the weather has finally caught up to me. I, much like everyone else, seem to be coming down with this head cold sinus infection yuck:(
My brain feels like it has floated away somewhere.
I feel as though i want to do some crafting but just don't know what i want to do. Yesterday i made some Halloween cards which i hope to share later this week. They turned out soooooo cute.
Keeping with Christmas here is another Christmas card for the class i will be hosting in November.
I just love snowflakes and felt it was perfect for the season.
I chose a lime green card stock as i wanted to stay away from the original green of Christmas. I used versa mark and a snowflake stamp to sporadically stamp on the edge. The background cream card stock is embossed with a sizzixs snowflake embossing folder. I used my wish blade and cut out the snowflakes. I used a pop dot to raise them and a jewel for the middle. The sediment is from stampin up welcome Christmas set and done in old olive then cut out and raised with a pop dot.
I am entering this into the following challenges:
HEART TO HEART - CHRISTMAS
HOUSE OF GILLI - ANYTHING GOES
OOH LA LA CREATIONS - CHRISTMAS SENTIMENT
TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS - CHRISTMAS
I really wanted to do some baking but just can't seem to figure out what it is i want to bake so i made caramel apples with my daughter. They turned out great and tasted great too but now I'm over the craving. Unfortunately, my daughter ate off the caramel but wouldn't eat anything more as she really didn't want her first tooth to fall out yet even though its ready any day now!

The Dinosaurs are coming...
For those of you who have been following regularly, know that i am having a dinosaur themed birthday party at the end of this month. Let me tell you how excited he is! Everyday he asks if his birthday is today it is so cute but becoming a bit annoying.
He has loved dinosaurs for well over a year and probably has some where around 30 different ones. Plastic ones, robotic ones, sound ones, little ones, big ones and even ones that walk and roar. And yes he does play with all of them.
So about six months ago i decided he should have a dinosaur party for his fourth birthday. I have made the banners from dinosaur paper and plastic bone, invitations, feet for the floor, we are going to have face painting, a dinosaur dig, a dinosaur t-rexcavator (like operation the game but dinosaur bones) and a dinosaur creation table. I cant wait to start decorating hopefully in about a week.
So here are his invites and i have had many great comments. Ethan decided there had to be three different colors. Blue of course as that is his favorite color. Green because all dinosaurs are green. And pink for the girls.
So here they are. Fitting since he is my little loveosaurus!

You might not believe this but the room is spotless!
I spent yesterday cleaning and reorganizing most things. I can't say i did organize everything because i don't think i will ever be completely organised.
Last week while surfing the web i came across some very organized, beautiful rooms and was so inspired to get mine done. It has only been over a year since it was repainted and redone, and i never finished it all then.
I'm quite happy with how it is looking right not, and with a few minor things to go i will be done for a while.
I cut the wall words out myself with my xyron wishblade and put the rod up to hold up all the ribbon. Finally took all my stamps in the brown bins and put them onto my paper stand for easier access. I moved all my baskets to my desk as they are the most common things i use all the time. Enjoy your look ground and if you like what you see follow along with the fabulous Julia.

Get Well Soon
I had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend. Saturday i spent at a pumpkin patch/haunted house with two great friends and all of our kids. It was an absolute blast. Sunday we had a great turkey dinner cooked by yours truly with lots of side dishes. Ate too much as usual!
Lately, it seems every time i turn around someone is sick or having a complicated, risky surgery. Is this what happens when you get older:(
Anyways, it gave me a great reason to make two girly get well cards.
One is for a friends mom who is just recovering from hernia surgery. She just turned 50 and has put it off so long that the pain of the hernia in her groin area was starting to affect her walking. Ouch doesn't sound like much fun to me.
The other card is for my neighbor who is recovering from spinal surgery. She is my great friend scrappymo! She had an awful time with problem after problem, for the entire 6 days she was in the hospital. She is so brave and taking next to nothing for pain, So i got her a couple of scrapbooking/cardmaking magazines and gave her one of these cards.
I have to admit, i went out of my comfort zone when i bought this stamp set but i figured one day i would use it. So at a recent evening crop, i purchased the patterned paper and new that i was going to use this stamp. I enjoyed making them and really didn't want to part with them.
However they went to very special people with the hopes of giving them a little smile.
I'm submitting this to the following challenges:
1. Challenge for everybody - anything goes
2. Dream Valley Challenge - Pink
3. Pile it on - Vintage or shabby chic

Christmas is coming
Lately i have been very much in the Christmas mood. Seems odd as we have not even had Thanksgiving yet. I got to say though, i am looking so forward to turkey on Sunday. Of course we will eat too much but i will definitely eat all the leftovers!
As Christmas is fast approaching i have already started some holiday cards. I am hoping to hold a card class in November so i had to get started early. i have a few Halloween ones to make so i hope to get to them next week.
He is one of the Christmas cards for my upcoming class. Hope you enjoy. I used a tree branch memory box die and glittered it with stickles. I used a brown card and put an aqua background on it. I embossed the background with the swiss dots embossing folder. The stamp is of a partridge inked in Stampin up Caribbean breeze and applied stickles.. I hung it from the tree branch with twine and and added the sentiment.

Princess Birthday
I'm back into the swing of things and have been missing spending time in the craft room.
I have done a little re organizing and hope to get some stuff up on the walls now.
But for now i have been busy making cards. Seems as though every time i turn around it is someones birthday and i need to make a card. With my son's birthday quickly approaching i have been busy trying to get everything finished for his dinosaur themed party.
This card i have made is a princess card for my niece who lives in Ontario. She is celebrating her 5th birthday! I know she has been to Disney world and two Disney cruises so I'm pretty sure she likes princesses.
I found this great cascading card on pinterest and just loved it so i attempted my version of it and it worked out ok. I'm hoping she will love it!
I am submitting this into the following challenges:
1. Cupcake craft -Pink
2. Crafty Boots - Three
3. Forever Friends - Anything goes
4. Squigglefly - Teal, pink and white
5. Victoria Originals - Lots of layers
6. Florishes - Think pink

We went away camping for the weekend and had a great time. The weather was absolutely beautiful for the end of September. The kids had a great time playing in the leaves and even swimming. Thank goodness for heated pools!
My daughter finally got her cast off and is doing much better. She is still a little hesitant using it but that is normal. She has the task of building up her strength in it again.
I have been keeping busy with getting some cards made. I wish i could spend all day and everyday in my craft room but that is just not possible. I even got it all cleaned up finally but have dragged a few things out to work on. So have a little peek at the somewhat tidy space. If you would love to see more head on over to Julia's page and follow along.
To all the people who follow along Scraps of life by scrappymo! she has finally had her back surgery yesterday and my understanding is she is painful but otherwise doing good.

Fall Wreath
I will keep this post short as I'm running out the door with the kids for school. My poor baby girl was sick the last two days which has exhausted me. I was up the last two nights with her so i need a rest. Today has been five weeks of her cast so we are heading to the cast clinic in hopes of it coming off!
So here is a fall wreath i made for the front door. Not sure how long it will last as Halloween is fast approaching and i love decorating for that.
I used a straw wreath wrapped in ribbon and hot glued all the corks on. Then made flower rolls from tulle and rosettes from an old canvas bag. I then added some brown tulle wrapped around it and two ruffles made from the tulle. And that was it, plain and simple.
Enjoy your Thursday i know i will enjoy my two hours without the kiddies!

Wow, it has been about three months since the time i visited this wonderful website. I cannot believe how busy i have been and now things are starting to settle down.
I have missed participating in Julia's weekly addiction. So come on the fun and fascinating tour of other peoples desks and enjoy our works of art.
It has been literally months upon months of trying to get in the door of the scrap room, but it seems I'm destine to pile more and more things into my creative space. Now with some free time on my hands i hope to get it organized and tidied over the next couple of weeks.
My son is having his 4th birthday party at the end of October and i need to get the room cleaned to work on some creations for him. This is one thing i have found time to work on as favors for his party.
My goal is to have it finished and complete by mid October so i can begin Christmas cards and all the fun for the season.
Come follow along on the magical computer ride!

Fall is coming...
Wow it has been nearly three months since i last blogged. I can't believe how fast the summer went and now my little girl has started kindergarten.
She has absolutely love it! Two weeks before school started, she broke her wrist falling off the monkey bars at the playground. It was so sad to see my daughter in so much pain. They had to put her under anesthetic and that was so hard to watch. After about 20 minutes of manipulation she was casted and waking up. Today she still has a cast on but hope to get it off on Thursday.
Now that i actually have a bit of spare time with my daughter in all day kindergarten and my son in preschool two days a week, i get two hours to myself. So i decided to do some cleaning. I finally got the dinning room table cleaned and cleared off and made a Thanksgiving center piece.
I used dried hydrangea plants with some fake leaves and some cat tails. I put a small maple leaf bowl in the center. I used a metal wire bread basket and turned it upside down on a green ruffled platter. I am finally looking forward to thanksgiving but only for the turkey! I don't want our beautiful weather to disappear and the rain start.

Still hanging in there
Well decided to see if this diet is working and yes so far since Sunday i have lost 4 pounds. Yeah for me! I find it hard at night to not want to eat sweets or chips but i'm doing well so far.
For lunch i made a flat shell pizza.
Flat stone cooked shell
1/4 cup greek feta
1/4 cup cherry tomatoes
2 springs fresh garlic stems
1/4 cup green onions
1/4 cup mozzerella
Broiled at 450 for about 5 minutes
And dinner was a yummy salad. I was wanting a mango on it but unfortunately it just did not seem ripe enough so had to use pineapple instead.
Leaf lettuce, spinach and basil
1/4 cup of fresh cherry tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh pineapple
2 spirgs of fresh garlic stems
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/8 cup dried blueberries
1 tbsp of grated parmesean
2 tbsp maple balsamic dressing
I have made a few cards and here is one. I choose to do a couple of masculine cards as i never make enough.
I like black for man cards and decided to keep it simple.I used a 6x6 page from a DCWV demask pad. I cut out the scallop on my wishblade and hand cut the banner. The bicycle image was a rub on in a pack from Micheal's.
Thanks for having a peek and enjoy the weekend!

Fluffy flowers
The flowers are fairly cheap and the glitter tulle is a great pick me up. Wish i could think of more things to use this tulle for as i am so in love with it. The boa feathers are an added bonus but let me tell you, a super big mess to work with.
I now have made 30 of them but only five of them are for my daughter. I find the only time that i can make these, is when it is nice outside. Otherwise all the feathers and glitter would be all over, not my idea of fun. Generally the wind picks up everything and blows everything away.
As for the diet i am still doing good. Another salad for dinner.
Romaine, basil and spinach
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup of fresh cherries
1/4 cup fresh pineapple
1/2 cup steak
2 tbsp olive oil and vinegar
I spent all day yesterday at the park/splash pad so no temptations. It was hard when i was scooping ice cream cones for them, but i didn't give in.
Have a fantastic Friday!

CARS banner and diet
All my nephew's are having CARS parties this year for their birthdays. Guess my little boy is the odd one out, as he wants a dinosaur party. My sister lives in Ontario and for me it is just too expensive to be able to fly back home for their party. My sister is doing a combined party this year as her little boys turn 1 and 3.
My sister in law here is having a CARS party in a month. I made this hoping one of them wants to use it. My son loves CARS but apparently every little boy goes trough a stage where all they love is trucks or dinosaurs so i guess that is what we go with. Who knows maybe he will want a cars party next year!
As for me, i have decided to start a diet. Maybe not diet but better eating. I am trying to cut out starch, breads and carbohydrates. I can not totally cut out dairy or protein. Breakfast is fruit and 1 cup of coffee. Lunch is protein and veggies and some more fruit. And for dinner i am trying to eat a salad ever night so far two out of three nights have been successful. So hopefully i can share with you the salad i have made.
Here was Monday night and the salad i had tonight.
Spinach, basil and radicchio lettuce.
1/2 cup of fresh cut strawberries
1/4 cup peppers
1/4 cup cherry tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh mangoes
2 tbsp toasted pumpkin seed
1/2 cup of breaded chicken breast cut up
11/2 tsp olive oil and vinegar
Spinach, romaine and basil
1 whole avocado
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1/2 cup fresh pineapple
2 tbsp of toasted pumpkin seeds
1/4 greek feta cheese
11/2 tsp olive oil and vinegar
