Another counterfeit kit card

This is another great use for my counterfeit kit.  For some reason i am just loving birds and bird cages.  I think until i started making this kit for the month of April, i would probably never have used birds or bird cages.
I used a rose colored card stock and then used my embossing folder to create a swirl look on the card matching the patterned paper.  I probably would never have choose the patterned paper but i loved the colors.
I had an idea in my head to make the bird look furry.  So i added the feather to the tail to give it that look.  I then added the flower to give the card some embellishing.  Finally since i am in love with jewels, i added them to the card to make it look glittery.

So i am looking for people to join my blog as followers.  So if your liking what you see and want to keep seeing more, join as a follower.  I am hoping to encourage more people to follow along so within the net week i'am hoping to give away some blog candy to one lucky follower.
Let me know what you think of my card.

CKC BLOG HOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the April Counterfeit kit challenge BLOG HOP!

The challenge that was  given at The counterfeit kit challenge blog this month was to counterfeit a member of the design team. I chose to counterfeit this beautiful  layout by Margie Visnick at  http://scrappinmargie.blogspot.com/
I loved the use of the canvas.  Her colors and  simplicity of the layout, I thought were fabulous.  So I was inspired to use the canvas for an Easter layout.
I took the kids to see the Easter bunny but as usual my son became afraid when it was time to snap the picture.  Hopefully next year! The paper to put the actual layout on, was my hardest decision.  I then cut out the grass for the border and curled it.  I then added eggs I cut out and put them in the border of grass.
I then added two feathers to make it look like a bunny in the grass.  I fussy cut birds from the patterned paper and used another sheet to cut out a border to apply to the top of the frame.  I then added flower stickers in the grass.

For the final touches I added the canvas and the so sweet tag and finished it off with pearlized bling.
Now it is time to head over to Scrappymo!'s blog http://scrapsoflifebyscrappymo.blogspot.com/ and see what wonderful creations she has come up with.

Thank you cards

These are thank you cards that i have made using my counterfeit  kits for the month of April.
Since i am loving this kit, it is very hard for me to choose the right pictures for my layouts.  Spring is such a wonderful time of year.  It reminds me of a fresh new start, everything looks so peaceful and bright, just wish that the sun would come out and the temperature would warm up here.
These cards i used the opposite side of one of my papers and found it had frames and bird cages on it.  So after fussy cutting them out i used pop dots to raise the cages off the frame.  The lace is something i am loving.  Wish i could find more at the scrapbook stores around here.  I then fussy cut out the birds and attached them on the cages.  Once i can find my thank you stamps i will be adding it to the right hand side above the border.
Hope you enjoy!

PLEASE HELP!

What a beautiful long weekend.  The kids had a great time doing Easter activities and getting ready for the big bunny's arrival.  So lets just say Sunday morning, the expressions were "priceless."  Watching them run around the backyard hunting for eggs was the most enjoyable event all day.  I think i was more tired than the kids were at the end of the day.
Well finally yesterday, i found enough time to clean up my scraproom counter so i could maybe find time to work on something.  My Husband said he would repaint my room and put in a new counter top.  That was two month
ago and of course i'm still waiting.  So that being said the one positive to it not being done is that i still can come up with organizing ideas.  So i am asking for help trying to find websites with decorating and organizing ideas.  So PLEASE send me ideas, anything will help.

Busy Day

Today is going to be a busy day.  This morning my daughter has a preschool Easter party and they are coloring eggs (how cute).  Then i'm off to take my son to an egg egg-stravaganza.  He is going to meet the easter bunny and do crafts, play and have an egg hunt outside.  It sure will be nice to be able to spend some time with just my son!
So we have been busy doing easter crafts together, coloring eggs and even baking.  So in four days the cute bunny himself will come and the kids faces will light up with joy.  Only downfall is the hyper children after eating all their chocolate!
I'm looking forward to a couple days of Easter fun.

Decorating for a princess party

We recently celebrated my daughters fourth birthday and what a great time she had.  I am sure glad that i had a little girl as i just love all the wonderful possibilities for having girlie parties.  She decided this year to have a princess party!
Wow  did i ever have fun!!!!
About two years ago i had bought princess party crowns, napkins, party blowers and invites from Micheal's.  I then new i did not want a disney party and asked my daughter what she wanted and she said princess and frog party.  So that is what we went with.  So of course i made my own invites.  I used the royal celebrations set of clear stamps and used an embossing folder to do the crown and outline.
i then made a banner which i have now hung up in her room.

and then of course all the many decorations.  I wanted her to feel like a princess!

i made it try to resemble a castle.  I had tulle decorated from the lights down to the table and streamers diagonally on the ceiling and then made all the tissue paper pom poms.

and the rest id just decorating and food.

AND I CAN'T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!!

April's counterfiet kit

I finally had a bit of free time to get my counterfiet kit finished.  And i must say i love it!  Probably my most favorite kit.  I am using most of it to make thank you cards.  I never seem to have enough thank you cards around, so my hopes is to stock up for a while.  So i am looking forward to having some time to get some cards done to show you all.  My theme is a spring theme, full of embellishments and bright colors.
Most of my papers are from fancy pants and some that are from  stampin up.  My ribbons i choose to match the papers as best i could then when i saw the lace ribbon in the original kit i had to go buy some.  I then included pink birds and green butterflies that i found in the $1.50 bins at Michael's.  I cut out the black felt butterflies and brown and blue birds using my neighbors sizzix die cut machine.  I then included some flowers (not too sure from where as had forever) and buttons from the local scrapbook store.
Wish me luck finding time to make some cards.
Hope you enjoy!
The pictures are of the main kit and the others are close ups of the embellishments.
