Fluffy flowers

Who would think that something so small and easy would  become so addicting?!  Well that is exactly what these hair, shoe or anything accessories have become!

The flowers are fairly cheap and the glitter tulle is a great pick me up.  Wish i could think of more things to use this tulle for as i am so in love with it. The boa feathers are an added bonus but let me tell you, a super big mess to work with.
I now have made 30 of them but only five of them are for my daughter.  I find the only time that i can make these, is when it is  nice outside.  Otherwise all the feathers and glitter would be all over, not my idea of fun.  Generally the wind picks up everything and blows everything away.
As for the diet i am still doing good.  Another salad for dinner.
Romaine, basil and spinach
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
1/4 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup of fresh cherries
1/4 cup fresh pineapple
1/2 cup steak
2 tbsp olive oil and vinegar

I spent all day yesterday at the park/splash pad so no temptations.  It was hard when i was scooping ice cream cones for them, but i didn't give in.
Have a fantastic Friday!

WOYWW!!!

Wow don't know the last time i posted on WOYWW, but happy to be back.  Feel free to join along with Julia and the rest of us as we showcase our workplace.
Mine is a piled up mess:(

I have just been so busy and tired, as hubby is away, that i never find the time to go downstairs and clean up.  As a matter of fact everything from my card class is still spread out on the dinning room table and all my stuff i took to the all day crop on Saturday is sitting in my kitchen.  But i am planning on using it tonight.
Today after my doctor appointment i made a visit to Michael's and you can see what i purchased.  I forgot to include all the beautiful colored flowers i bought for hair accessories.  But love my teal colored butterfly drawer pulls!
Anyways, enjoy looking at all the wonderful spaces.  Have a great Wednesday!

Wow im back!

Wow, it has been a busy three months and i don't know where the time has gone.
I have been busy with the kids and trying to clean up a flooded scrapbook room.
Hard to believe that tomorrow, my little princess is graduating from preschool.  She is growing up so quickly and in September she will be off to all day Kindergarten.
We took our first ever family vacation in late April to Disneyland and had a fabulous time.  The most enjoyment was watching the expressions on our children's faces every time someone walked by or they tried a new ride.  Would definitely do it again!
As for crafting i have not had a lot of time to do much.  The night before we left for Disneyland my scrapbook room flooded and wow was i ever mad:(  Lets just say that i finally put things back two weeks ago.
In the mean time i worked on creating some hair flowers.  My daughter just loves wearing them when i do her hair and i think they are cute for little girls of all ages.  I have decided to try selling them so let me know what you think.  Would you buy one?!

The glittery small ones are intended for hair barrettes and scrapbooking.  The red and black ones are for my minnie mouse pages and the purple and green are for tinkerbell pages.  They are so pretty with the glitter all over them!

Flower Power

This will be short and sweet.  Has a long day yesterday and just totally exhausted myself but the good news is i am finally starting to feel better.  Hopefully that means on Monday i can finally start working out at the gym.  I have really wanted to get myself back in shape and feeling better about myself.  Not too sure if i have the motivation to do it but i will have to find it somewhere.
So for now i can look at these pretty flowers i made in which i am going to attach to the tutus for my daughters birthday favors.  So here is how i made them,  ENJOY!
 1. Cut four circle smaller than each other out of fabric

 2. Cut lines around the circle in a pie shape.

 3. Carefully hold out one petal at a time and burn the edges using a tea light candle.  Take care not to catch the fabric on fire or burn yourself.

4. Arrange the flowers largest to smallest being on top.

 5. Sew together and add whatever embellishment to the center and attach to what you want.

And when your finished this is what you get!

WOYWW #142

Here we are again on Wednesday and i can hardly believe that it is almost the end of February.  Wow it has gone by so quick but looking forward to getting nicer weather here.  This rain has to STOP!!!
So as you can see i have a project on the go.  I am trying desperately to finish my daughters birthday invites.  But im just not getting too far.

I also added photos of the shelf many of you have been commenting about.  My husband made it for me a couple years ago for my birthday..  It is filled with ribbon and flowers and wish i had 2 more shelves like it.

Also included is my paper shelf.  It is organized but could be neater.  Just love it though!
If your new at this then head over to THE WONDERFUL JULIA and follow along on what is probably the worlds largest blog hop.
HAVE FUN PEEKING!

How is it possible...

Let me ask, how is it possible to feel sicker than you  felt when you first caught the cold.  Hopefully i just need to relax from a busy weekend.
So i managed to finish all the cupcake and actually enjoyed playing with the fondant.  Even good compliments at the birthday party guest.  Here is a little look at how they turned out.

Thought i would share some little goodies i bought  at the LSS.  I really wanted to get out and found some super cute papers and embellishments to go with them.
Some days i wish i had infinite amounts of money and all day to play but i will leave that for dreaming.  Got a couple cute stamps, bakers twine in aqua and grey, flattened bottle caps and some flowers. Looking forward to creating if i ever get to feeling better.
Enjoy your day.

Tutu fun

I have been in the process of trying to make eight tutus for my daughters 5th birthday.
My daughter wanted to have a ballerina party for her birthday so i figured i would make tutus for each of the girls.  I also am going to make large pink flowers for each tutu.  I only have enough material to make 7 and including my daughter there were eight girls so i am just making her a different one.
I still have some decorations  and banner to make.  The invites i hope to have finished by the end of next week so she can give them to her friends.
I am hoping to make cupcakes and just some snacking food and the hard part is coming up with things for the girls to do.  So if you can think or suggest anything fun let me know.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday.

My Pretties

Finally i have decided that instead of just doing flowers for scrap booking or whatever, i made some for my daughter.  Do too  thin hair and feathers that stick out every where my daughter mostly wears pony tails.  She seems to be quite pick and generally can't stand  much of anything in her hair.  Hope that changes before kindergarten in a couple of months.
I made two elastic hair ties, one clip and one barrette.  I'm hoping to make a hair band tomorrow that is red with hearts for Valentine's day.  One that does up under her hair.  So have a look and let me know what you think.
Don't  forget that today is the last day for my giveaway!

And it only took about two hour to completely finish all of these.  Yeah for me!!  Hope to have more soon to share with you all.

BLOG CANDY

As mentioned on Friday i have a giveaway. YEAH!  I want to share the flowers i have been making with some lucky winner!  If i could, i would spend all day making flowers but i didn't have the time or all the fabric.  I'm hoping to find new ideas for flowers so if anyone has seen any good ones send me a link.  I love the look of the ones i make and how easy they are to do.
So to participate in my giveaway i would love for you to leave me a comment and join my blog.  Also i want to hear what you would do with these flowers.  I will pick a random winner on Friday so stay tuned to my blog!
I am so excited about the new counterfeit  kit challenge so i am off to see if i can come up with two kits as well. It really is a lot of fun to go through your stash and see what you have and put it together to create a kit all of your own.

Enjoy your Monday!

Put it together and what to you have....

Went out shopping and found a lot of great buys.  But best of all i got this little purse.  I was so excited because i wanted something small.  Actually something that only holds my wallet and i phone.  So it was perfect.  One thing, it needed a little decorating!

Last night i spent most of my evening doing flowers with my neighbour.  When i say flowers.... well three hours of flowers.  It is a good thing i love the end product because the pain in my neck and back hurendous when i finish.

I decided because the purse was brown and black that i would stay with the brown flowers and add a small amount of color to it.  So i make one pink and brown flower and one blue and brown flower.  So when i put it together, this is what I got.

Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think.
And just a little FYI, here is a sneak peak at something i will be giving away next week

First time using a sketch

I have for the first time decided to try using a sketch to create a layout.
I have been following creative scrappers and just love there sketches and the creative ideas that  everyone comes up with in there layouts.
I used sketch #193
I used a ballerina background paper (sorry can't remember who it is made by).  I used a pink doillie bought in a pack of 8 at Michael's.  I then embellished with stripped paper, and a soft pink rick rack ribbon.  I used a ballerina dress to embellish with flowers, rhinestones, and a reminisce sticker that says ballet class.  For my title i used a rhinestone word art from Michael's that says twinkle.  And finally, i put a photo of my daughter at her first ballet class when she was three..
I hope you enjoy.  Thanks for looking.

Flower Tutorial

So here is how i have been making the flowers i have featured on my blog.
Here is what you will need to make flowers.
Your choice of fabric (sheers, tulle and sateen work best)
Tea light candle
Scissors
Thread and needle
Tweezers
Your choice of smbellishment for the middle
Safety pins

STEP ONE
Cut circles of various size ( i do a minimum of 5)

STEP TWO
Hold one circle with tweezers and singe edges using tea lite
STEP THREE

Arrange the circles largest to smallest on top of each other.  Sew centers to each other and add embellishment to center.
Optional:  When i cut my circles i layer them together and put a safety pin trhough them and do it up to keep each flower together.
That is all there is to it.
Thanks for stopping by.
