Get Well Soon

I had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend.  Saturday i spent at a pumpkin patch/haunted house with two great friends and all of our kids.  It was an absolute blast. Sunday we had a great turkey dinner cooked by yours truly with lots of side dishes.  Ate too much as usual!

Lately, it seems every time i turn around someone is sick or having a complicated, risky surgery.  Is this what happens when you get older:(

Anyways, it gave me a great reason to make two girly get well cards.

One is for a friends mom who is just recovering from hernia surgery.  She just turned 50 and has put it off so long that the pain of the hernia in her groin area was starting to affect her walking.  Ouch doesn't sound like much fun to me.

The other card is for my neighbor who is recovering from spinal surgery.  She is my great friend scrappymo! She had an awful time with problem after problem, for the entire 6 days she was in the hospital. She is so brave and taking next to nothing for pain,  So i got her a couple of scrapbooking/cardmaking magazines and gave her one of these cards.

I have to admit, i went out of my comfort zone when i bought this stamp set but i figured one day i would use it.  So at a recent evening crop, i purchased the patterned paper and new that i was going to use this stamp. I enjoyed making them and really didn't want to part with them.
However they went to very special people with the hopes of giving them a little smile.

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:
1.  Challenge for everybody - anything goes
2.  Dream Valley Challenge - Pink
3.  Pile it on - Vintage or shabby chic

  4. As the recipient of the card with the tan card backing, I have to say that I am delighted with my card!!!
It is even more beautiful in real life. The stamped image certainly will will one you can treasure over the years, Lisa. That small square with the dress form signage is just so perfect with this card,
Who knew that when we bought this house 6 or 7 years ago that I was moving next door to a scrapbooker/cardmaker. It must be something in the Surrey water as there are apparently 6 or so of us right in little Fleetwood corner.

Glad you guys had a good day...DH said "That girl from the wedding and that other scrapbook lady with the Scottish dancing girl were standing outside looking happy! Sounds like he was right! And shows he does listen to my stories about people as I have told him about Simone scrapping the winning medals...I am never sure if he is really listening! teehee
